Black Vale Estate
The Valerian Sporthorse
A newly developing breed with the careful crossing of coloured horses, mainly Appaloosas and Paint horses with the typical champion-bred Belgian, Dutch and Swedish Warmbloods with previous Spanish influence. Valerian Sporthorses come in all colours available, with emphasis being on breeding for flashy markings alongside bravery and sense. Conformation is prioritised, along with strong bones and disease free lines. In the words of Valadez; "I'd rather see a healthy plain jumper than a flashy horse who's legs would break at the first hurdle. "
Build: Strong and clean-cut. Powerful but contained. Graceful, scopey and sure-footed. Head is neat and non-bearded, usually straight or slightly roman nosed profile, wide nostrils, soft eyes. Crested neck, medium set chest and barrel, long clean legs proportionate to body size. Height ranges from 14hh-17hh.
